CANCELED - ROSLYN LANDMARK SOCIETY PRESENTS: "The Pulaski of Roslyn: The History of the William Cullen Bryant Viaduct & the Roslyn Bypass"
On Thursday, May 29 author Mitchell Schwartz will discuss his new book, The Pulaski of Roslyn: The History of the William Cullen Bryant Viaduct and the Roslyn Bypass. The Roslyn Bypass is one of the most significant components of Long Island's surface transportation network and its construction eliminated one of the worst traffic bottlenecks on Long Island. Hear the story behind this vital stretch of highway and discover its history, the engineering behind it, how it relieved severe congestion in a charming community on the North Shore of Long Island and helped foster the transformation of Roslyn and the greater area into a thriving, world-renowned suburb of New York City. Copies of Schwartz's book will also be made available for purchase at the event and a book signing will take place following the presentation.
