CONCERT: Jazz Steps Through the Ages
The origins and beginnings of America's contribution to the world, Jazz, from its conception in the African American communities of New Orleans are traced and will be performed up to the contemporary styles that currently appear. The development of Jazz will be traced from an amalgam of Blues and Ragtime through Dixieland, Swing and Bebop styles.
Our group will perform examples of these styles as well as a few selections in our interpretation. The program includes Q&A.
